5 events you don’t want to miss in the Mother City

10 Apr 2017

With so much happening in Cape Town this April, it’s almost impossible to keep up, let alone decide what to pack in to your holiday! So we thought it would be a great idea to share the six Cape Town events this month that you simply can’t afford to miss.

Whisky Live Festival Cape Town

6 – 8 April 2017

This festival’s reputation speaks for itself and is the perfect event for all the avid whisky lovers in and around the Cape Town area, as well as tourists temporarily visiting the Mother City. Not only is it the largest event of its kind, but also the liveliest and most exciting whisky tasting lifestyle show in Africa!

It showcases some of the finest single malts and blends the world has to offer, and gives attendees the opportunity to be informed on the stories behind over 150 brands, how they’re prepared and what they pair well with from many whisky connoisseurs from around the world.

You can also look forward to some great local and international acts while you experience and appreciate whiskys such as Bunnahabhain, Ardbeg, Glenmorangie, and Bruichladdich, Aberfeldy and many more!

The Whisky Live Festival will take place from 6 to 8 April at The Lookout in Granger Bay and is a must for those of you who truly appreciate the craft and taste of a good old whisky. We recommend securing your ticket as soon as possible by following this link: https://goo.gl/aR1erV

Midnight Circus with Miyagi and Seth Schwarz

22 - 23 April 2017

If you’re looking to experience something truly unique during you stay in Cape Town, this is an opportunity you don’t want to miss! Midnight Circus has one goal in mind, to give you a night like you've never experienced before, by combining top class DJs and a fully functional circus into one mind-blowing production.

By collaborating with German artists Miyagi and Seth Scwartz, as well as other supporting artists, Midnight Circus will mesmerize your senses with a variety of amazing circus acts. They also pride themselves on not using animals during their acts, they are waste and meat free, and they support free expression more than anything else!

Midnight Circus will run from 22 to 23 April at The South African Circus School in Observatory, so if you’re looking for a place where weird is perfectly fine, we recommend buying your ticket here: https://goo.gl/yYSR8O

Once a year on a very special night, the museums of central Cape Town open their doors to offer free admission for everyone! This is an initiative of Thursdays Projects in collaboration with Iziko Museums of South Africa and is targeted to anyone interested in the unique South African heritage, as well as natural history and breakthroughs in the world of science.

All these museums are conveniently located within easy walking distance of each other, and will definitely give you a look at Cape Town in a new light after dark on the 20 April.

Now pair this with the beautiful Sandringham Farm in Stellenbosch, as well as more great food stalls at your disposal, and you get the annual SA Cheese Festival.

We recommend taking a well-deserve break from your busy schedule to spend a relaxing day outdoors with your family and friends. With great entertainment, including outstanding music, presentations by celebrity chefs and fun activities for kids and teens, this annual festival is one you simply don’t want to miss.
